I was extremely hesitant and skeptical of taking my car in ANYWHERE for the repairs it needed because I don’t have a lot $ and being a woman, mechanics like to try and take advantage and upsell you or sell you something you don’t need cuz they think women are stupid when it comes to cars. See, I just moved here from Illinois and in Illinois I had a place I trusted and loved, so I KNEW I wasn’t being ripped off and here in Florida I know NOBODY. I decided to google the places near me and read customer reviews before making my decision. Of all the places that google pulled up for me, PALS-Ocala, had the most reviews from consistently happy customers! I had my car towed there with still a slight hesitation. After speaking with the one of the owners, Chuck, he had my mind at ease. He listened to everything I said I felt was wrong with my Buick Enclave and assured me that everything we spoke about would be throughly looked over and he would get back to me with the results and an estimate. Next morning I had my estimate in my email. The estimate was quite reasonable considering everything it needed done. I was pleasantly surprised that there was only one thing on the estimate that I hadn’t discussed. I called them immediately to go over the results of the diagnostic test and was assured NOTHING would be done that wasn’t approved by me FIRST. Money is tight and I opted to have only 2 of the 4 repairs needed. They didn’t pressure me to do anything I didn’t want done. They were honest with me about what I absolutely needed to make it SAFE to drive and ended up saving me almost $2500!! I’ve taken my car to the Buick dealership (in Illinois) before and every time I did my car came back with something broken, first a windshield wiper, then the contraption that holds my hood open, third an oil leak after an oil change there. Then they really tried taking me for a ride and quoted me $2500 to replace my whole exhaust system when my trusted place (in Illinois) fixed the exhaust sound for $65 ( the noise ended up being caused by a missing bolt creating a hole). Anyways my point is that it was stressful moving to another state and trying to find a mechanic who was HONEST and reasonable. PALS-Ocala really put my mind at ease! The reviews are correct and this place is one of a kind! Chuck talked to me every day to keep me posted and I thought I’d be without my car for at least a week or more so they could order parts and everything but they only had my car for 3 days. When Shelly ( the other owner, Chuck’s wife) called to tell me my car was ready she also informed me that I got a 3mo/36K mile WARRANTY on parts AND LABOR! They only use OEM certified parts and not many shops offer ANY kind of warranty but especially not LABOR, so PALS-Ocala is definitely a cut above the rest of the shops out there!! Chuck and Shelly were the absolute nicest and most helpful people, putting me totally at ease. PALS-Ocala, and Chuck and Shelly are now officially my GO-TO people whenever my car needs ANYTHING! I trust them completely and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them for ALL your automotive needs!! A++++++
