Brought my 2008 Volvo in for repairs to a thermostat malfunction and brake work etc. My car was misdiagnosed by subpar mechanics. They called me and said it was ran for 30 mins and mechanic said it was ready to go. I stopped by and paid them 2800.00 cash. I drove my Volvo for two miles before the temp spiked way up. It was running at 208deg, which is close to normal (200deg) when I brought it in for repairs. I ask them to check the cooling system when I dropped it off. They replaced the t-stat. They then told me it was a defective t-stat. Called me to pick it up again. One mile away from shop it overheated again. Brought it back and they were upset and said the car didn't like me. They ran a pressure test and said it was a cracked thermostat housing. They repaired and charged me $285 dollars more. Still milking the customer. I was called and told it was fixed for sure this time by their best mechanic. I picked it up got two miles down the road and it overheated again. Brought it back. All mechanics involved had an attitude like I did something wrong, other than trusting that they knew what they were doing. Mechanic was upset. He jumped in the car and drove it like a maniac to show me that it didn't overheat like he had said. But it did. Chuck , the bald mechanic and I saw it bubbling over. They were wrong again. They said leave it there and they will fix the issue. That evening the Owner of Pals called me to tell me he doesn't know what happened but it now needed a new motor. This company are crooks and have been known to destroy cars or charge you for things not done. See BBB complaints. They should be closed. I am still trying to sue for destroying my Grandsons birthday gift.
We feel responsible that this was not fully communicated to you, and we apologize. When your Volvo came in to us, the engine was shaking violently. We looked at it, repaired it, and our work is backed by a nationwide warranty. You contacted us because it overheated again, so we invited you to bring it back to us. In an attempt to solve your overheating problem, we installed a thermostat and unable to determine it had a blown head gasket, and that part, unfortunately, is not under warranty. After indicating that you had blown a head gasket, we offered a repair and you declined it. We are so sorry that your Volvo has secondary concerns, and we hope we can earn your trust in the future. Safe travels, and best wishes.
