Hi Chris, We did not take advantage of your Mom. We did exactly what your Mom directed us to do for her vehicle!! Your Mom's vehicle was towed into our shop because it had overheated. Upon arrival she authorized a block test to determine if the engine had sustained catastrophic damage. We performed the block test and the engine failed the test!!! We showed your mother the results of the test and she agreed that the engine was compromised. The radiator had failed and that caused the car to overheat and caused engine failure. We recommended a replacement engine and radiator to repair the vehicle BUT your Mom declined! Instead your Mom directed us to install a radiator in the vehicle so that she could drive it elsewhere to have it repaired. We asked your Mom to have the vehicle towed to another shop but she would not hear of it! She directed us to install a radiator without antifreeze. We explained that we would not be responsible for any damage to the vehicle and that she was taking the vehicle as is and shown without recourse. Your Mom agreed signed the receipt without any warranty, paid the bill and left satisfied that we had done what she had asked us to do for her vehicle. The charges were as follows: Towing $60.00, Engine Block Test $105.00, Radiator Assembly: Labor 2.5 hrs $262.50, Radiator Part #431437 $220.00, Coolant $0.00 (Please Note $0.00 charge for coolant because your Mom instructed us not to put it in the radiator). We certainly understand that your Mom wanted to have the vehicle repaired at another shop BUT we do not understand your attack on us!!! We did exactly what your Mom asked us to do for her and she was satisfied when she picked up the vehicle.
