I was happy with the courtesy and knowledge of the staff, and the comfort and cleanliness of the facility. What I was NOT happy about was being told that I needed a new battery ($252) when it turned out I did not. I also later found out that there were much less expensive remanufactured parts available nearby--almost $350 less!--but they were never mentioned. Try charge me an extra $600 at Christmastime, and get $350 of it? I would NEVER recommend Pals.
Hi Sam, 1). The battery in your car is required to have 730 cold cranking amps your battery failed the battery test at 23 cold cranking amps and it requires replacement. We provided you with our test results at time of service but you declined the replacement not because you didn't believe the test but because you had warranty elsewhere!! Please note that the vehicle had to be jump started by Pals before you could take it elsewhere!! (proving our test results!!!) 2). Pals Ocala Auto Repair is a TechNet provider of parts and service. TechNet is a Nationwide Network of individually owned and operated service facilities including Pals Ocala Auto Repair. TechNet requires each of the facilities in the Network to provide the highest ethical standards and parts to their clients. Parts that are provided by Pals Ocala Auto Repair are required to meet TechNet's stringent standards before they can be offered to clients. The alternators that you found at a less expensive price do not meet the standards required by our TechNet Network and consequently are not offered to customers. The alternator that Pals Ocala Auto Repair provided for your vehicle meets or excedes these standards and of course you received a 3 year/36,000 mile Nationwide Parts and Labor Warranty at no extra charge because we are a TechNet Top Shop!! 3). Nobody tried to charge you $600.00 to get $350.00 at Christmas time. Your car had been towed into Pals Ocala Auto Repair because it did not run. Pals diagnosed the different problems that were preventing your vehicle from running and you approved some but not all of the repairs. Please reconsider your review of Pals Ocala Auto Repair. J.
