Welcome to October! Time for the leaves to start turning, the temperatures to cool off, and the Pumpkin Spice to flow. Now that we’re officially in the Fall season, there’s a lot going on in the Ocala area for the family.
Pals Ocala Auto Repair’s special of the month is a free oil change and tire rotation! Don’t forget to take advantage of this free offer. This is great preventative maintenance and a good measure to take before the holidays make life very busy, so book in today!
Of course, Halloween is this month’s biggest event, on October 31st. This might just be one of the biggest Halloweens we’ve seen in years, with the day falling on a Saturday, and with a lot of people feeling cooped up indoors over COVID19 safety concerns.
Our concern this year is that kids will be trick-or-treating on the streets and almost all of them will have costumes featuring masks this year, to help protect them from catching or spreading COVID19. As a result, their ability to see and be seen by drivers will be low. Like moths drawn to porch lights or lit Jack-O-Lanterns, their minds will be focused on candy. It will be important to watch out for children darting across the road with little or no warning. With adults joining in the celebratory spirit of Halloween, there’s also an increased danger of drunk drivers in the late hours. So please, take precautions when driving!
And, if your brakes are not stopping quickly enough, please consider bringing your vehicle to Pals Ocala Auto Repair for brake service and repair. This month, as a TechNet partner, we’re beginning our Brakes for Breasts! TechNet is proud to partner with Brakes for Breasts for this exciting promotion. Starting October 1, when you visit participating TechNet Professional Automotive Service Centers, you can get or give up to a $40 TechNet Professional Prepaid Mastercard with the installation of Carquest Platinum Professional brake pads. To schedule an appointment, contact the team at Pals Ocala Auto Repair!

Leading up to Halloween, here are some of the October events we look forward to attending in the Ocala area. They are a great mix of fun family-friendly gatherings, good fun, and maybe a few creepy scares thrown in!
10/2/2020: 11th Annual Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch
The Fall Festival begins at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, but lasts the entire month, until November 1st. This year promises plenty of crafts and carnival fun in the great outdoors of Timberlane Farm!
10/18/2020: Fun at the Park "Let's Get Buggy 3!"
Ladybug enthusiasts should take note of this year’s Fun At The Park, as 100,000 ladybugs will be released into Sholom Park! The event runs 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
10/31/2020: After Dark in the Park: Free Showing of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
The 1986 film of the musical LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, starring Rick Moranis and Ellen Greene, will be shown for free at the Fort King National Historical Landmark from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Remember to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets!
We’re not sure what the Ocala Drive-In is doing this year in the lead up to Halloween, but maybe we’ll be lucky enough to see some great horror movies. We’re also still on the lookout for some fun costume party events! The Young Adults group of Meadowbrook Church used to do costume parties years ago, perhaps they’re doing one this year!
Pals Ocala Auto Repair is proud to partner with Meadowbrook Church. The ministry of Tim and Alicia Gilligan has had an important impact on Ocala and we're glad to spread word of their service! Some of Meadowbrook’s upcoming events include the Married’s Corn Hole Competition (10/3) and the Fall Cleaning (10/7). The Fall Cleaning is a great community event, where members of the congregation and their families come together to clean, repair, and take care of the shared space together. We invite you to join us in supporting their good works!
Before you and the family hit the road to attend all of these October events, we invite you to call on Pals Ocala Auto Repair for your FREE oil change and tire rotation, and to donate up to $40 of your brakes work to Brakes for Breast, in support of a cure for Breast Cancer!
