Brakes For Breasts: What Does it Accomplish?

Every October, PALS Ocala takes part in a truly wonderful program called ‘Brakes For Breasts’ that brings vital awareness to two crucial issues. It’s primarily known as a fundraiser to support the effort to end Breast Cancer. Every year, breast cancer awareness goes up and charitable donations towards finding an end to breast cancer surges.

Breast cancer is survivable with early detection and treatment, but it’s a disease that grows rapidly and is hard to control once it spreads. And for those affected, it’s a terrible gutpunch that should be preventable by now. This charity brings awareness of breast cancer to the forefront. It also deals with brakes that may be wearing down from a hot summer, and reminds our shop customers to check their brakes before going into the holiday season, when getting brakes checked without an immediate red flag of concern may get pushed to the back burner, resulting in accidents and damage to your vehicle.

The charity works with TechNet to reward attention to both brakes and breast cancer. When you bring your car into PALS Ocala in October for brakes, you get a $40 gift certificate from TechNet through the mail. You can choose to keep the gift card or donate the value to Brakes For Breasts, and they will use the money to pay for research and aid for women everywhere who are affected by breast cancer. Brakes For Breasts is run by Laura Frank and Leigh Ann Best, and it’s more than just money thrown at researchers: a vaccine is now in human trials thanks to contributions made by folks just like you!

It’s important to know how to diagnose brake issues. Take a look at what Chuck caught on this Mercedes-Benz.

Given that we’re in Ocala, rust is a real issue with brakes. An investigation into why a Hyundai is losing brake fluid led us to discovering a corroded brake line.

This Cooper is getting the full brakes works!

Please consider bringing your vehicle to Pals Ocala Auto Repair for brake service and repair if you are in need of new brake pads. Our partner TechNet is proud to sponsor Brakes for Breasts for this exciting promotion. Starting October 1st, when you visit participating TechNet Professional Automotive Service Centers like us, you can get or give up to a $40 TechNet Professional Prepaid Mastercard with the installation of Carquest Platinum Professional brake pads. To schedule an appointment, contact the team at Pals Ocala Auto Repair!
